News: Raising Awareness for Stopping Violence Against Women in Kushtia District Freedom Day

On 11 December 2020, on the occasion of Kushtia Freedom Day, the Rotary Club of Kushtia inaugurated a workshop on raising awareness about violence against girls and a strategy on various strategies for self-defense of girls. Rotarian Advocate Anup Kumar Nandy, PP of Kushtia District George Court and President of Kushtia Bar Association and General Secretary of Kushtia District Sports Association was present as the chief guest at the function held at Kushtia Municipality Chattar. In his speech, the chief guest said that the role of Rotary Club of Kushtia in stopping violence against girls and in their self-defense is a very commendable and timely step. In particular, the self-defense strategy workshop will take girls one step further in self-defense.
The event was presided over by Rotarian Kazi Shamsun Naher Alo PHF, President, Rotary Club of Kushtia. Rotarian Syeda Habiba AKS, Rotarian Md. Obaidur Rahman, Rotarian Adv. Md. Mossaddeque Ali Moni PHF, Rotarian Jesmin Hossain Mini, Rotarian PP. Md. Forhad Ali Khan RFSM, Rotarian Zeb-Un-Nisa Shabuj, Rotarian Smriti Sureka, Rotarian Biswajit Saha Santu, Rotarian Shah Jamal Tanvir, Rotarian Jahidul Islam Rony, Rotarian Gopa Sarker, Rotarian Faruque Hossainand Secretary of Rotary Club of Kushtia Ruaim Rabbie. Civil society leaders including Rotaractor and Interactor participated in the program.
Organized by the Rotary Club of Kushtia, the bicycle rally was held on various roads, including the main road in Kushtia town, to raise awareness to stop violence against girls.
Later, a workshop on various strategies for self-defense of girls was held at Bijoy Ullas Chattar in Kushtia Municipality.

Fakhrul Alam Milon as Best President has been received the award in District Award Ceremony 2019 on 30 June 2019 at Hotel Westin, Dhaka.
