Rotary Club of Kushtia launched weeklong Free registration for Covid-19 Vaccines. It’s the first registration for Covid-19 Vaccines in Kushtia district by mobile setup. Rotarian Md. Kamarul Arefin PHF, Chairman, Mirpur Upazila, Kushtia was present as a chief guest and Lincoln Biswas, Upazila Executive Officer, Mirpur, Kushtia was present as a special guest. We registered 526 people in different areas on 1st day.

Project Title: Raising Awareness for Stopping Violence Against Women in Kushtia District Freedom Day
On 11 December 2020, on the occasion of Kushtia Freedom Day, the Rotary Club of Kushtia inaugurated a workshop on raising awareness about violence against girls and a strategy on various strategies for self-defense of girls. Rotarian Advocate Anup Kumar Nandy, PP of Kushtia District George Court and President of Kushtia Bar Association and General Secretary of Kushtia District Sports Association was present as the chief guest at the function held at Kushtia Municipality Chattar. In his speech, the chief guest said that the role of Rotary Club of Kushtia in stopping violence against girls and in their self-defense is a very commendable and timely step. In particular, the self-defense strategy workshop will take girls one step further in self-defense.
The event was presided over by Rotarian Kazi Shamsun Naher Alo PHF, President, Rotary Club of Kushtia. Rotarian Syeda Habiba AKS, Rotarian Md. Obaidur Rahman, Rotarian Adv. Md. Mossaddeque Ali Moni PHF, Rotarian Jesmin Hossain Mini, Rotarian PP. Md. Forhad Ali Khan RFSM, Rotarian Zeb-Un-Nisa Shabuj, Rotarian Smriti Sureka, Rotarian Biswajit Saha Santu, Rotarian Shah Jamal Tanvir, Rotarian Jahidul Islam Rony, Rotarian Gopa Sarker, Rotarian Faruque Hossainand Secretary of Rotary Club of Kushtia Ruaim Rabbie. Civil society leaders including Rotaractor and Interactor participated in the program.
Organized by the Rotary Club of Kushtia, the bicycle rally was held on various roads, including the main road in Kushtia town, to raise awareness to stop violence against girls.
Later, a workshop on various strategies for self-defense of girls was held at Bijoy Ullas Chattar in Kushtia Municipality.

Rotary Club of Kushtia has been setup ICU units for COVID-19 patients in Kushtia today. It was a project with the help of Global Grant. Now the peoples of Kushtia will get better treatment in Kushtia without going to Dhaka.

Rotary Club of Kushtia also setup a Breastfeeding Corner at Kushtia 250 bed General Hospital, distributed Garbage Bag for Corona Patient, and also distributed masks among the invited people and nearby areas.

Saving Life of Senior Citizen by Blood Arrange
A 76 years old patient was admitted to a hospital. He needs 3 Bag O negative blood on emergency. The patient’s family was not able to manage blood from blood banks or from blood donors. At that time Rotary Club of Kushtia searched for blood donors in different places and got donors after 18 hours.
Tree Plantation Project from 1st July to 18th July 2020
The Rotary Club of Kushtia has been conducting a tree planting program every day since July 1, 2020. 1172 different species of saplings and trees were supplied till July 18, 2020. Fruit and vegetable gardens are also planted on the roofs of the Rotarians. And others are called upon to garden on the roof.

Rotary Club of Kushtia had distributed Food and Cash to 80 families. The amount was 2500.00 tk for each family. This project had completed with the help of Rotary Disaster Response Grant DR52.

About a month ago, a house was burned by fire at Baria village of Battail union in Kushtia district. They were 6 member’s family. They were under the open sky as they could not afford to build a house in Covid-19. Someone informed to Rotary Club of Kushtia. Rotarians visited that place to take a decision to build a house for him.
Today 30 May 2020, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Kushtia officially visited the house and exchanged greetings with all the members, including the owners Monica and Lalon. Construction of the house has been completed and family members are living. Monica and Lalon express their gratitude to the Rotary Club of Kushtia.

Tree Plantation project of Rotary year 2019-20 held on 22 July 2019 at The Old Kushtia High School & Shahid Hasan Foyez Girls High School, Kushtia. Chief guest Shompa Mahmud, Horipur Union Chairman & special guest Md. Ashafuddoula, Officer, Skill Development Training Center, Kushtia and Members of Rotary Club of Kushtia and teachers were present there. Trees are an essential part of our environment. Our children will have to be taught about tree plantation.
Project: 6th Tree Plantation of Rotary year 2019-20
Plant trees together to make a beautiful green area in kushtia. Rotary Club of Kushtia arranged a tree plantation project at Cheuriya Secondary School on 16 July 2019. Near 500 saplings were distributed among the students and residents of Village. Members of Rotary Club of Kushtia, teachers, students and residents of the local area were present there.

Save the environment and plant trees for nature. Rotary Club of Kushtia arranged a tree plantation project at Kushtia Pouroshava on 16 July 2019. Hon’y Rtn Anwar Ali, Mayor, Kushtia Pouroshava was present and requested to plant a tree in the house area. Rotary Club of Kushtia handover near 1000 various saplings to Mayor, Kushtia Pouroshava. Members of Rotary Club of Kushtia, Staff of Kushtia Pouroshava and people of kushtia were present.

4th Tree Plantation project of Rotary Club of Kushtia held on 15 July at 6 No. Pouro Govt. Primary School near 45 saplings were planted at school area and 1000 saplings were distributed among the student. Members of Rotary Club of Kushtia and teachers were present there.

3rd Tree Plantation project of Rotary year 2019-20 held on 15 July at SunUp Internation School & College, Kushtia. Some 2000 saplings were distributed among the student and near 20 saplings were planted at school area. Members of Rotary Club of Kushtia and teachers were present there. Trees are an essential part of our environment. our children will have to be taught about tree plantation. So Rotary Club of kushtia start a project among the student of the necessity of tree planting.

Project: Year Launching Meeting 2019-20
Year Launching Meeting 2019-20 of Rotary Club of Kushtia arranged on 12 July 2019 at M A Rahim Auditorium, Kushtia Pourashova. Members of Rotary club of kushtia, members of EarlyAct Club of Kalakakali Secondary School, members of Interact Club of Kushtia and guest were present. Secretary presented a work plane of the year 2019-20. The club has given financial support for education to a student in this program, and it will continue for his education year.

Rotary Club of Kushtia has been signed with Freedom Soft to develop a website and support on 12 July 2019 at M A Rahim Auditorium, Kushtia Pourashova. Project: 1st Tree Plantation of Rotary year 2019-20
Rotary Club of Kushtia organized 1st Tree Plantation project of Rotary year 2019-20 held this afternoon at RCC (Rotary Community Corps) Rahimpur, Kushtia. The need for tree plantation has become even greater these days because of the growing pollution in the environment. Near 3000 saplings were distributed among the resident of Rahimpur and they planted in their area.

Water & Sanitation Project 2019 of Rotary Club of Kushtia, with the assistance from District Designated Fund, on 30 March 2019 at RCC (Rotary Community Corps) Rahimpur, Kushtia. Under this project two tube-wells and two sanitary latrines were set up.

3 Days Free Cataract Operation held on 17-19 August 2018. On 17th August we checked patient for cataract operation and selected near 200 patients. There was 500+ patient for the cataract operation. 3 Days Free Cataract Operation. Project: Joint Cleft Surgery
German-Bangladesh Cleft Surgery held on 8 February 2018 at Dr Tofazzul Health Centre, Kushtia. It was organized by Sheikh Hasina Free Health Care Centre and supported by Rotary Club of Kushtia. Under this project, around 50 patients were screened while 27 children got admitted and operated. Doctor said, “Cleft lip and cleft palate happen is one of the most common birth defects. Both cleft lip and cleft palate are treatable. Most kids can have surgery to repair them within the first year or two of life.”
Project: International Mother Language Day Celebration
Club Celebrated International Mother Language Day and paid homage to Central Shaheed Minar, Kushtia on 21 February 2018. On 23 February 2018, club dignified Vasasainik (Language Fighter) Ex-Rtn Nazm Uddin Ahmad for his extra ordinary role in the Language Movement of 1952. Club also dignified Bird Lover SI Sohel and Journalist SM Jamal Khan for their contribution to Birds Preservation and Journalism respectively.
Project: Helping Fire Burnt Family
Club helped a fire burnt family at the village of Te-baria, Kumarkhali, Kushtia on 24 February 2018. They were fully burnt by fire. Under this project, around Tk 20,000/- (Twenty thousand) was given in cash and kind. They were very thankful to get this donate.

Relief Distribution & Medical Camp Among Flood Victims jointly held by Rotary Club of Kushtia & Rotary Club of Pangsha-Rajbari on September 12 2017 at Madhobpur Bazar, Kalukhali, Rajbari. 215 bags of rice (5 kg) were distributed among flood affected people while over 1 thousand poor patients were treated and given medicine over Tk 1 Lakh.

500 Awareness Stickers were pasted and distributed while 20 Festoons were displayed in and around Kushtia city corners on September 1 regarding Qurbani Garbage. Moreover, Awareness Slogans were published in The Daily Bangladesh Barta on that day.
Project: Distribution of New Eid Dress
Muslims observe basically 2 major religious festivals in all over the world. As Bangladesh is a developing country, many poor are deprived of the flavor of the festivities, due to poverty. We distribute New Eid Dress among 100 unprivileged children on 19 July, 2016.

Seven wheelchairs were distributed among very poor disable persons at Kushtia Pouroshava at 10am this morning. It’s a joint project between Rotary Club of Kushtia and Rotary Club of Sundarban,Khulna. Organized by Bangladesh History Sammiloni and cooperated by Rotary Club of Kushtia & SunUp International School & College, Prof Dr Muntasir Mamun spoke on it.Among others, Md Zahir Raihan, DC of Kushtia, Prof Abul Ahsan Chowdhury of Islamic University, AG Md Akamuddin also spoke and broadcast by my TV and JTV. A TV report on Itihaser Boi Mela arranged by the Rotary Club of Kushtia.

Project: Opening Ceremony of Cheuria Junior High School
Opening Ceremony of newly constructed modern building held at Cheuria Junior High School, Kushtia. Md. ZahirRaihan, DC, Kushtia formally inaugurated it. Donated by club members all the expenses (around Tk Six lakhs). Heartfelt thanks to Zaman Bhai. Everybody was very helpful and co-operative and did their duty with great care and really it was a golden and a great achievement year for the Rotarians. With thanks the progressive report was ended successfully.
